UGC NET June 2023: University Grants Commission (UGC) released the Notification of the Exam of UGC NET 2023 the Exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). All Eligible candidates can apply for the UGC NET 2023 through the official @ugcnet.nta.nic.in website starting from 10 May 2023. Age Limit:

• JRF: Max 31 Yrs.
• Assistant Professor: No Age Limit.
• Age Relaxation as per Govt. Rules.

Qualification

• Candidates who have obtained a Master’s Degree or its equivalent in Humanities and Social Science, Computer Science, and Applications, Electronic Science, or other related subjects with at least 55% marks (general category) or 50% marks (OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third gender category) are eligible for the Test. Refer to Appendix V for the list of qualifying subjects recognized by UGC.

• Candidates currently pursuing or awaiting the results of their Master’s degree examination can also apply for the Test. However, they will be admitted provisionally and must pass their Master’s degree within two years from the NET result announcement with the required percentage of marks (55% for the general category, 50% for OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third gender category) to be considered eligible for JRF/Assistant Professor.

• Candidates belonging to the Third gender category are entitled to the same fee, age, and eligibility criteria relaxation as SC/ST/PwD categories. The qualifying cut-offs for this category will be the lowest among SC/ST/PwD/OBC-NCL/General-EWS categories in the respective subjects.

• The Ph.D. degree holders who completed their Master’s degree before September 19, 1991, will receive a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (from 55% to 50%) for appearing in the NET. Refer to Appendix VI for the list of eligible Post-Graduation courses and their codes.

UGC NET June 2023 Exam Pattern

The test will consist of two papers. Both papers will have objective-type, multiple-choice questions (MCQ). There will be no break between papers. Each question is of two (2) marks. For each correct response, the candidate will get two (2) marks. For incorrect responses in the UGC NET 2023, no negative marking.
